Bails
Hi all, I found this tooth that washed out of the Charleston Harbor in South Carolina that is ~3 inches long and ~2 inches wide. I was wondering if someone could help me with an ID on it? Thinking it may be horse, bison, or cow, but those are just guesses so any help would be appreciated! Harry Pristis
I think this is a newly erupted Equus P2 2 1 http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
Bails
Thanks @Harry Pristis! So this isn’t a fossilized Eqqus tooth? Edited May 11, 2022 by Bails
Harry Pristis
I don't know; can't tell from the images . . . it could be a fossil. You'll have to rely on context and condition. Show it to an experienced collector. 1 http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
