Hi

Found on Caspersen beach. It’s a fragment of what I think is a tooth. Any idea what kind? Showing all angles

Thanks

It might possibly be (and I'm by no way certain) that this could be the corner of one of the enamel loops of a mammoth tooth. Do an internet image search for 'mammoth tooth' and you'll see they are formed of compressed loops of enamel in softer dentine. Other than that it doesn't resemble any teeth that I'm familiar with. The other strong possibility is that it is just a phosphate nodule mimicking something more interesting. ;)

Caspersen Beach usually just gives up worn and tumbled shark teeth so it is nice to see something different from the usual.

Cheers.
