JBkansas
Got some new fossils back to my house and realized I got a real whopper once I put them under good lighting. "Baby croc skull" is clearly molded with attached ?mosasaur teeth and painted with sand. Place also had a few fossil dragonflies and fossil fish. Thinking my starfish and trilobite are also fake. Thankfully ammonites are too cheap to fake or I wouldn't have gotten any actual fossils. Aside: Are any of the trilobite earrings real?
Ludwigia
Hopefully you got these things REALLY cheap. They are all throwaways in my opinion and the croc isn't even a decent work of art. 1 1 Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Wrangellian
I agree with Roger... If that trilo and starfish ever had any real parts to them (they look like they might have), they butchered them pretty badly and I wouldn't have paid anything for them.
Troodon
I showed this photo in my 2022 Tucson Show post. First time I had seen fabricated baby Croc skulls at this event. Lots of fake starfish and trilobites were also around.
Fossildude19
The trilobite looks partially real to me, as does the starfish. Prep on the trilobite is truly awful - missing the right side of the pygidium and most of the right side pleural segments. Three of the legs on the starfish are fabricated. 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." digit
Hopefully, this was at least a learning experience (and with luck the tuition wasn't too dear). On the bright side, it might have resulted in you finding this forum. Lots of great information and knowledgeable members here. Cheers. -Ken

I'm really surprised no one questioned the appearance of a ton of baby croc skulls or mosasaur jaws just scattered around by themselves .

Seriously, was this for sale? but it does look like a tray with marzipan figurines...

Probably looking for people with no experience and poor vision (like myself). Though it seems like putting out a full bin of identical "fossils" out would be pushing their luck.
