Nimravis
This morning I drove from my hotel in Lawrenceburg, Indiana into Kentucky for a little collecting (more on that on a separate post), and then I driven into Cincinnati, Ohio to attend the Dry Dredgers GeoFair 2022. This is one show that I have always wanted to attend, but never had the time. This year it worked out well since I was stopping over to do some collecting on my way home from Sanibel Island. I arrived at the show at 10:00 am and there was a huge line waiting to get in, I would guesstimate 125+ people. The show was held at the Sharonville Convention Center and it runs Saturday and Sunday. Outside of the venue they have a few people selling things at the Swap Tables. I really do not know much about this, except they cannot take cash and you have to use tokens that are purchased inside to get the items. Once inside, the have to booths that are manned and they collect $10.00 per adult of $15.00 if you are going to visit both days. I do not know how much it is for children. Here are some pictures from the inside of the show. CONTINUED ON NEXT POST-
Nimravis
The show was fun, there are a lot of dealers, but most are non fossil related. There are things for the kids and you can have fossils and minerals identified for you. I was hoping to find local dealers selling locally found Ordovician fossils, but I only saw one person selling local trilobites, and he had a lot of them. If I am in the area next year I will be sure to visit. Edited May 21, 2022 by Nimravis

Nimravis
Here is one last bit of info that I wanted to post. Though I did not see dealers with local fossils, except for the guy with trilobites, they did have displays of them along with IDs. Here are some- CONTINUED ON NEXT POST- Edited May 21, 2022 by Nimravis 2

stats
Those displays of the local fossils are great! I was just down there and could use those photos for identification. Looks like an interesting show... I've also thought about attending someday. The tokens seems a little odd. Any idea why they do that? Something with taxes? Cheers, Rich

I am not sure about the tokens, but some how they need to get paid, can’t buy gas with those tokens.
Tidgy's Dad
Wow! Those local displays are amazing! Love your Clypeus, it's a very nice specimen for your collection. Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.
siteseer
Great report, Ralph, with great photos. Yeah, it's always a bit of a bummer when there are few/no local fossils for sale when I travel to a show out of my area. The display case set-up of local collectors is always a saving grace. I've been to a show out-of-state that seemed to have more stuff from Morocco than anywhere else. It's at least educational to see what is for sale whenever I go to a show. There was no local club show again this year and I haven't been to any show in years now, hoping to attend Tucson next year. I used to go every year except for a few times when I couldn't go because of work. Jess
Nimravis
@siteseer I agree Jess. I believe there will be one or two more local shows around and then in October I will be driving 3 1/2 down to Springfield to attend the MAPS show, I always have fun there. One of these years I need to head out to Tucson and check that show out.
