uller6
Ok, so I went back to the river today to look again at my non-track find. While I was there, I found this. It’s definitely a rock, but is it bone, or is it cake? It’s bizarre, with one porous side and all pores apparently aligned the same direction. Sorry, non-Americans, I will get a metric ruler. Lone Hunter
Same rock in both pictures? Ones kinda oval and ones triangle it appears. Not bone but first one looks like half a baked potato.
uller6
Same rock in both pictures. The iPhone camera does some strange compression on the images, so you really can't see the detail well. I thought it was a small section of medullary bone. It was found in a river so is well polished on 3/4 sides.
Rockwood
Sorry I don't think this is bone either. A pancake needs to be flipped when it looks like this. I can only guess that the same basic principle may have been at work in the clay here.
