Below are some of the slabs/slices/limb casts of petrified wood from my collection.  I'll post more pieces in latter replies.  I especially like very colorful pieces and unusual pieces like Teredo bored pieces or pieces with fungus.  I have hundreds of close-up pictures.  If you would like to see close-up pictures of a particular piece, reply to this post with the number/numbers.

Unfortunately, I don't have any more Blue Forest pieces.  However, I can post some close-up pictures.

#4 Rhexoxylon is a very unique species, one of my favorites, they are prone for getting vugs in the middle. Here's a picture of mine to show others if they've never seen the species. 7" diameter

I just added the below slab of Woodworthia petrified wood from Zimbabwe, Africa to my collection.  I’ve tried unsuccessfully to win in auctions (the prices just get way too expensive) green Woodworthia petrified wood slabs from Zimbabwe that had a lot more green chromium color, some almost completely green.  Green chromium petrified wood is pretty rare worldwide. This slab is called starburst because of the starburst patterns of green chromium, which can be seen in a few of the close-up pictures below.  This slab has some nice wood cell preservation in areas, which can also be seen in the close-up pictures below.

Nice wood specimens.  Was out at Saddle Mountain in September, but the road was seriously trashed, and my low clearance vehicle was unable to make it to the top.  Did find some floater material, however.

Are you able to cut and polish your finds?  I can only hand polish or polish with a grinder.  Not very efficient and with variable results.

About a year ago, I had an opportunity to buy one of the Indonesian wood slabs. 

Had already reached the limit of my monthly fossil budget so I left it.  Something I regret

When you do buy one, post it so we can see it.

 

Buying Indonesian wood slabs directly from Indonesia is an adventure.  A lot of bad sellers mixed in with the good sellers.  Prices are a lot cheaper than local dealers, but shipping costs and bad sellers are a real problem.

 

I've seen two basic kinds of petrified wood from Indonesia.  The very colorful, highly agatized slabs usually have little wood cell structure but can be quite striking.  The very plain looking slabs aren't as great for display pieces, but usually have great wood cell structure for ID and wood cell structure pictures.
