Found this fossil in an agate of unknown age from a gravel pit ...

I think it looks shockingly similar to charnia. Maybe a cephalopod, snail, or plant? What could it be?

Not sure you can say much about this with the quality of the picture.
It could be a fossil, but could also be some sort of crystalization that partially formed.  :shrug:

 

Cropped, darkened, contrasted, enlarged, and smoothed.

I'm not sure what you have there, but it looks like a gastropod in longitudinal section, to me.
