JamieC7696
These are three finds, made on my local Suffolk coastline (UK), that I'd please like identified... The first of these ('1') has flat, shiny surfaces - but I suspect it to be 'just' a nice-looking rock; the second ('2') I'm not too sure what it is; and the third ('3') is definitely either coral or, less likely, bone - for it's incredibly light for its size, and it feels almost hollow... 1. Fossildude19
Sorry, but I don't see anything fossil looking here. 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." That's interesting - especially with regards to the last one: I'll certainly learn something new here... So, what is '3'?
JohnJ
The first one might have some texture that could offer more clues. Additional photos might help. The human mind has the ability to believe anything is true. - JJ
daves64
#3 could very well be slag of some sort. Some can be very light. Or possibly even pumice. 1 1 Accomplishing the impossible means only that the boss will add it to your regular duties.
Tidgy's Dad
It looks a lot like vesicular basalt with dried roots or grass stuck to it. But I think Suffolk is not right for much in the way of igneous rocks. Whether man made or natural, they do look like gas bubbles to me. 1 1 Life's Good! Tortoise Friend. I was thinking the same thing, it looked igneous but I didn’t think the geography was right for it. Manmade slag? 1
