Mark Kmiecik Posted June 23, 2022 Share Posted June 23, 2022 Sometimes plant roots will grow into small cracks or crevices in rocks because they tend to retain water and when the plant dies and the rock is exposed to the weather the dead roots fray and resemble hair. If you've ever dug a hole in the ground near bushes or other plants you have probably seen rocks with roots grown into them. Mark.
