A friend has just shown me these and wanted to know if i could help on an id but i was stuck so have to ask you guys and girls. They were said to be found in marine deposits where sharks teeth are found but this is not 100% confirmed. he just tinks they are some kind of mammal claw but something does not look quite right has anyone else got any ideas ? there are 2 , photos are not great but hope you can help.

Looking at the photos again they look a little like crab claw pincers but they are far bigger than any of the crabs found in the area....

Yup. If I had to put money on it, I'd be in the crab claw camp on this. They are decent size and pretty cool fossils.

Cheers.

My previous opinion suffered from a lack of clear thinking,I'm afraid

(edit : the extant brachyurid ) Geosesarma has a claw morphology like that

I am in the crab claw club as well.  I was in Cuba in April and came across about half a dozen of them on our beach walks.  Got to say that I told my son it was shark teeth, just because it sounds cooler lol.

Wow that really looks like a good match, i guess there are so many different species ... this it great, I am sad its not something more rare or interesting but what matters is knowing what it is, i think with the photos above i will have to agree with crab, i did send him this photo of some olf worn ones but could not find any with the big lumps on the joints , but the slight of set or twist i guess was a clue thanks guys :)

You've at least got a good direction for further research that will hopefully find an ID that closely matches your items.

Cheers.
