MikeR
I recently found this turtle shell fragment in a Plio-Pleistocene shell and limestone deposit in South Florida. It has more detail than many pieces that I find and although it might be a shot in the dark, maybe someone with more expertise than I, can identify from which type of turtle? Plantguy
Nice find Mike! I am pretty sure that polygonal pattern suggests its from either one of the snappers or one of the sea turtles. I'm not smart enough to know/figure that out. I'm still learning... Here's a peripheral example of one of the snapping turtles I have: and a Chelonid sea turtle costal example.. MikeR
Thanks Chris! I was not aware of that pattern until you pointed it out.
