Stefan123
Found this literally right on the summit of Pen y fan in south wales in a scree pile. Have had a bit of a research and everywhere says fossils are very rare in this type of old red sandstone... does anybody have any ideas? Its about 3cmx3cm. Well aware it could just be a rock... Cheers!

Rockwood
Show me a eurypterid fossil with this texture and I'll give it a maybe.
Kane
One of the strong mitigating factors that suggests this is not a eurypterid is that they generally do not occur this robust; they typically occur nearly as a film, or some modest raise (but not this much). I'm not seeing anything diagnostic here to suggest eurypterid. I am thinking this is a nodule or a weathered piece of sandstone. 1 2 ...How to Philosophize with a Hammer

Fossildude19
Cropped and brightened: Not seeing any kind of fossil here, unfortunately.
