Gerastos Trilobite?

Hey all

I picked up this trilobite really cheap from a seller I trust but I've seen him make mistakes before so I'll get the opinions from experts here!

Is the ID correct?

Can you spot any repairs? Under UV there is something at the back of the trilobite, I can also spot a crack in the matrix so it might be a splodge of glue.

Based on the price I paid, I assume these are really common.... or did I find a diamond in the rough or the preservation just isn't as good as some others in this genus?

The genus is correct. I would stay this is a standard quick prep, and they are fairly common. The repair looks very minimal on this one.

The "discovery crack" is a feature, not a bug (ok, bad pun :P) as they are generally found in cross-section. In fact, a lot of diggers will also lick the rock to better pick out any cross section details.

Yay for the programming reference, and double yay for appreciation of licking rocks!
