Is this a bivalve fossil or just a contoured flint?

This little stone(?) caught my eye while sitting on Southwold Beach  (UK). It’s basically a flint covered shoreline but the  contours on this looked shell like. It could just be another bit of flint, but I’ve not seen this sort of weapon a piece before.

Thank you again - I’ve followed the link  and learned stuff! I’ve got a couple of pieces like bumble bees so now I know what that is too
