Mosasaur Jaw? Real or fake.

Hey everyone! I made an account just to ask this question from some real experts: is this Mosasaur jaw real? 
 

I bought a tooth from the same shop and the matrix looked the same: some bones scattered about in the dirt and rock. (It’s the one right under my pinkie I’m the image) 

 

I’m a little thrown off because, well firstly, the shop traveled to vendor at a fair and that seems a little suspicious. Secondly, they’re selling other items that are commonly faked from Morocco like Trilobites. 
 

I really want this to be real but I can’t justify buying a fake…

Looks like a fake to me. The teeth don’t belong to the “jaw” see the light grey material used to fake the joint?

these are comonly faked…. If it gets wet the “matrix” will often dissolve…

I got one of the fakes just to have one in my collection!.

I’m glad I’m not crazy for thinking the teeth looked out of place! Pretty piece, that’s for certain.

The teeth are relocated, to two small pieces of real jaw, both are real but the jaw is in poor condition, its very common these creations. So its a small reconstruction.

Not fake, but not authentic neither. 

 

I would pass and wait for a better piece, and just buy a single real rooted tooth that is also there.

The teeth have been placed. Their connections with the bone are made of sand and glue (marked red).

Oh interesting! I thought the roots might be kind of real but I suppose not.

 

Glad to have avoided a potential scam. Wish it was real though!

These jaws are quite widely available--so I'm sure you can find an authentic one shopping around. Just, get it checked here first just in case. But they come up for sale often enough.
