While walking in the early morning in Corolla, NC 2 weeks ago I was distracted by a black bird that lead me to find this vertebra. I've never found anything like this at the beach so I thought I would ask for some help here. The only thing I've found that looks like it is here - scroll down to

Yes, a modern dolphin vertebra. Can also add that this was from a juvenile because the epiphyses (also known as discs or cookies) are not attached to the body of the vertebra.
