Tooth found in Peace River

Discover and Preserve

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

Attached are some pics of a tooth we found in the Peace River FL. Measuring tape is in inches and cm. I have a guess what animal it is from (possibly a first lower premolar) but want to see what some more educated members of the forum think. Thanks!
Brent

Please take a photo of the chewing surface side, from directly above the tooth.

I think it's a taper P2. I don't know how to link it on my phone, but if you search for tapir and my name from last week you'll see it and compare.

Agreed, it's definitely a Tapir. Can't speak to the location though. Jealous of the find, that's incredible!

Fossils? I dig it. :meg:
