PaleoNoel
Hi everyone! I wanted to get some opinions on this tooth I found in Wyoming's White River formation back in 2020. While I was initially unsure of what it could be, over the last few years I have been of the belief that it was a somewhat worn incisor from an entelodont (Archaeotherium mortoni). The deeply rooted tooth is ~4 cm long and ~1.5 cm at its widest point. Any input would be appreciated. @jpc @siteseer @ParkerPaleo
ParkerPaleo
I think you are on the right path, it appears to be Entelodont to me. I'm not sure you could define the species from a single incisor but it's a probable guess.
hoffy
For comparison I found this in Nebraska and was told it is an Entelodont.

Entelodont for sure, but its the canine, rather than the incisor. A few images from a cast I have.

Thanks for your help! I seems to compare quite well.
Harry Pristis
The polished area at the base of the crown is speculated to be from uprooting resistant roots. For comparison: That's really cool, I don't think I've ever seen entelodont material from Florida!
