Found this jawbone in Summerville, SC yesterday. Have found both angustidens and a meg here, so there are multiple epochs. Bone is filled in with matrix and has a very noticeable groove along the side. Any ideas as to what it could be from?  Thank you!

It appears to be a section of odontocete jaw.  Clean out the alveolae and post an image.

Harry, I tried to clean it out (although I have no idea what I'm doing), but there appears to be enamel down in two of the holes and there is definitely a piece of tooth broke off in the other two.

Cleaned it up a tad bit more, but still erring on the side of caution, since I don't know what I'm doing.

Nice Job,  I love this photo: That seems to have double _ rooted teeth... Squalodon Calvertensis would have some double _rooted teeth. No matter what it turns out... FANTASTIC Find.

Thanks, @ShellseekerI actually read that a couple of months back when another ID request brought up squalodon. :)

But, according to that, it's not squalodon, correct, but eosqualodon? Although I see several people online claiming to have found squalodon there.

Thanks, Harry.  This helps me visualize it as well. I was wondering why his teeth were so far apart.:)
