Fossildude19
Not teeth, unfortunately. No enamel present. These look like chert nodules, to me. 4 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." Brandy Cole
Number 2 looks like banded chert to me. That's what gives it the neat looking rings.
Den
Ahh thank you! That’s good to know. I work in a primary school and know nothing about fossils, but the children are very excited about the topic. I certainly don’t want to tell them anything wrong. I have a few more that I am about to post , I am just grateful for your knowledge and am pleased you can say either way for me if it is actually anything or not. Many thanks!
Den
It’s also good you have told me actually what it is so I can pass that information on . Thank you so much.
TqB
To be a little more specific, they're all Upper Cretaceous flint which is the kind of chert you'll find down there. It's well known for producing convincing looking pseudofossils including teeth. But it also contains or forms many real fossils. 3 Tarquin
