Dino9876
Hello, some time ago I bought these 3 theropod teeth from Morocco. I suspect they come from the Kem Kem Formation, but I'm not sure because the colors are sometimes unusual. Do any of you have any idea what species or groups of dinosaurs we are dealing with here? I first labeled them as Abelisauridae indet., but I'm not sure if that's true, especially for the first tooth. Thank you in advance. Dino9876
Tooth 3: The seller sold these teeth as "Raptor", "Majungasaurus" and "Errachidiasaurus", which of course is not correct. Still, I would be very interested to know what species the teeth come from. Troodon
First the Kem Kem is not a formation but a deposit in southeastern Morocco. The Kem Kem group is made up of a number of formations depending on where collected. There are no theropod teeth from the KKG that you can assign to a genus or species . Best you can do is to a family level. Your first tooth is an indeterminate theropod.#3 is an indeterminate abelisaurid not a raptor and #2 may be an indeterminate Carcharodontosaurid but not 100% sure.
