Hello,

I wanted to get some opinions on this heteromorphic ammonite. It is said to be a Colchidites breistrofferi (61 mm) from the Uppermost Barremian of Paja Fm. in Santander, Colombia. Seller claims no reconstruction/restoration, but it looks quite rough to me. Does it seem legitimate? Is this typically how rough these are, or is this one just badly preserved/prepped? And does the ammonite look complete including living chamber?

Thanks!

I am a bit unsure if the center part is real or fabricated... Do you have close-ups of the center part to see if there are suturlines from the inner phragmokon?
