Crinoid. or cephalopod ? Seems like it must be one, but I'm not sure.

I agree with Rockwood's assessment, BUT it would be helpful to know its size and where you found this. Both requests can

 help substantiate our thoughts or make us re-think of other possible IDs.

Apparently, this was found in one of the New Jersey Brooks. (Big Brook, Ramanessin ).

Sometimes, paleozoic fossils can be found in these normally Cretaceous aged sediments.
Either glacial erratics, or flood born wash-ins.

@Fossildude19 @minnbuckeye Sorry for not adding more information on this post. I thought it’s real simple ID. So this was actually found in shark river that’s late Eocene to middle Miocene. And  I’m adding a size reference picture.

This looks, to me, from the size of it, to be a silicified crinoid stem.

A reference for next time: universal scale items such as a ruler or scale cube are more helpful, as a coin is only relevant to those with the same currency.
