Kane
I am seeing no evidence of bone features, and think this one is a rock. 4 ...How to Philosophize with a Hammer
IsaacTheFossilMan
Unfortunately, this looks like a rock typical of Big Brook. Note the lack of porous material on any of the faces that would be expected of bone, e.g.: This website might help you figure out what type of rock this is! marcltetreault
I decided to polish one end to see the end grain better. There are pores…. Whereas there is enough of them is up to you guys to decide.
Fossildude19
Caveat emptor: I am not a bone guy. However, this does not look like fossil bone to me. Take that with a grain of salt or two. marcltetreault
I will also say this…. On many of the pieces you all have said they are concretions they most definitely were after polishing, showing nothing but polished mud or a matrix of tiny pebbles and mud. But this looks much different than the others.
Ludwigia
It may look different, but it still doesn't look like bone to me. 1 1 Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Roger http://www.steinkern.de/
CDiggs
After polishing, with those colors and the amount of porosity, its almost started to look like metalworking slag to me. I Might be totally wrong about that but it still doesn't look much like bone, sorry. 1

abyssunder
It looks like slag or volcanic material to me, but I could be wrong. 1 2 " We are not separate and independent entities, but like links in a chain, and we could not by any means be what we are without those who went before us and showed us the way. frankh8147
I don't see any bone texture here. I believe this to be a rock.
Brandy Cole
It looks like ironstone rock to me, which can be very tricky because it often has pores that look similar to bone at first. The bright orange tint and the sort of shallow look to the pores makes me lean toward ironstone. Also, the pores aren't as prolific or uniform as I'd expect in bone. @IsaacTheFossilMan has provided a good example of porous bone for comparison. 1
