Peace river bone

Family Fun

Recommended Posts

I found this in the Peace River in early June, I’ve tried researching it but honestly have no clue where to start.   I’m giving it away to a family tomorrow here in Orlando and I’d love to at least tell them a direction to look for identification.   The family are two twin girls 5, and boy who is 7, and the parents are 2 of Orlando’s finest.  They made me a drawing which says misD ric after giving them a few fossils this summer.   @Shellseeker @hemipristis

Any help would be appreciated

Thank you Harry.

I was very fortunate to retrieve this bone from the Peace River some 7 years ago... Due to other bones and teeth I was finding at the same location,  I strongly believe that it is a Neural Vertebra Process from a Mastodon... Note that mine is likely 15 inches unbroken.

These are exceedingly rare finds...

Congratulations.
