Nimravis
Just came across this piece in a box of loose concretions. It has the look of an insect wing, but believe it might be a Neuropteris inflata leaf. What do you think? @RCFossils @deutscheben @stats @connorp @Mark Kmiecik Sorry for the darker pics, but this is a real black concretion. 1
connorp
I’d agree with that ID. It’s a neat pinnule.
deutscheben
Yup, that’s a good id. An excellent example of how much some plant material can look like insect wings as well.

stats
It could be. Also, looks like a Cyclopteris. Cheers, Rich
Nimravis
@connorp @deutscheben @stats I have one more from tonight. Take a look at this 1/2 of a concretion. I don’t recall seeing something like this before, it is small like ostracods, but don’t think that it is.
connorp
There doesn't look to be a whole lot of detail. But my initial impression is that these are the gastropods Strobeus cf. primogenius, which are often found in clusters.
stats
Not much detail at all. I think I agree with ostracods. Cheers, Rich Edited August 3, 2022 by stats
