Meganeura
In trying to find an ID for an ear bone I found yesterday, I stumbled upon a thread here discussing different sizing of dolphin ear bones in Florida - and wanted to ask if anyone ( @Boesse) might know or be able to ID these! 1) So this first one is my biggest at 44.5mm long: 2) This next one is 32mm long: Comparison of the 2: 3 + 4) Then I’ve got these 2 that are the same size, 25mm: All 4 together: And also I know the bottom of these 2 is whale - but is the top also whale? Thanks in advance! 1 Fossils? I dig it.
Meganeura
Update - the last one I have that I posted next to the whale ear bone is confirmed to be a tympanic bulla - most likely from a Pomatodelphis sp. The smaller 3 periotics are also most likely Pomatodelphis sp - or at least I believe them to be. Fossils? I dig it.

Lol Well these guys certainly won't be hearing much given they all seem to be missing ears! Fossils? I dig it.
Boesse
Here are my thoughts on the periotics: 1 & 2 - Platanistidae, probably juvenile Pomatodelphis. 3 - Eurhinodelphinidae. 4 - Physeteroidea indet. (sperm whale). Edited August 7, 2022 by Boesse 2
