GarbanzoBean
Is this a Knightia? If so, why does it look like squidward? Im only assuming it's from the Green River because I found it in a box with stuff that is definitely from the Green River.
Fossildude19
It does look like a Knightia eocaena. It is very poorly painted over, however. They do this to make the fish "more attractive" to buyers. You can see where they missed the real fossil with paint. It probably wouldn't have any color otherwise, and would just be an imprint. Not sure the paint can be removed, however, as Green River matrix is very porous. Mark Kmiecik
Really lousy paint job. Skull is deformed. Result = squidward. 1 Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!

I agree. In my opinion, it is a poor practice, and wholly unnecessary. 2 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks."
