BipolarBuffalo
I found this about a year ago in a farmers field in central/mid Michigan, US. It is rather light. Not much weight to it. Thanks for any help!
Shellseeker
Welcome to the Forum, lots of experts who know lot of fossils... @minnbuckeye Focus, Focus, Focus.... I want to say that those little round circles with the dot in the middle might be corallites , but I can not be sure unless you provide a crisp focused photo... minnbuckeye
Crinoidal as another possibility. 1

Manticocerasman
In my opinion "Stigmaria" those are Lepidodendron root fossils. 3 growing old is mandatory but growing up is optional.
Rockwood
I don't think these are body fossils. I see trace fossils. It's difficult to say what created them, but clam diggers look for a little squirt coming from a vertical hole in the shoreline.
Ludwigia
According to geological maps, central Michigan has a lot of Pennsylvanian bedrock, so Stigmaria is a good possibility. 1 2 Greetings from the Lake of Constance. I actually have stigmaria which look very similar from south central Michigan, found just west of Lansing (the Pennsylvanian outcrops along the Grand River). I would try to find mine and post but I'm traveling in Europe right now.
Rockwood
I guess I overestimated the degree of glacial scour in those parts. Thought they would be older. Technically I believe they would still considered trace fossils though.
minnbuckeye
Much better pictures!!! Not crinoids as I mentioned earlier.
val horn
Skolith? i would have expected stigmaria to have the rough shield shapes that i am not seeing here.
TqB
I think Stigmaria, with rootlets, too. Edited August 24, 2022 by TqB 2 Tarquin

I don't think I'm in the center of fossil county, other than museums. Just left Hamburg and Amsterdam, in Rotterdam right now.
