Texas Eocene: Saw fish rostral tooth? Or large fish spine?

I found this oddity in some middle Eocene strata (stone city formation) in Texas the other day - at first I assumed large, unusual fish spine, but on closer inspection there looks to be worn enamel. I'm not very familiar with the Eocene stuff, but a few searches on my own led me towards it being a Pristis lathami rostral tooth, but I'd rather get a few other opinions before I jump in on it.

Here's what I'm basing the Pristis lathami ID off of:

Lastly if the ID is indeed Pristis lathami - is this actually a common fossil? The most conspicuous stone city eocene spot in Texas is Whiskey Bridge, and it gets a lot of chatter online, so I would imagine I would've have heard of texas eocene saw sharks at least from there on the forum or elsewhere, but I haven't until now. Thanks for any input

I think you are right, I've seen quite a few from the Eocene deposits here in Belgium and they look exactly like yours. I have to check when I get home, I think I've got a few of them in my drawer with Eocene shark teeth.

Yes, it's Pristis. The Eocene where I collect, rostral teeth are scarce but not rare. I find their centra more frequently than their rostral teeth. Here's what a Pristis centrum looks like.

Found them, yours seems a bit more curved.
