A.C.
Hey all. Was messing with a Greenops I had found a while back. My question is do you all think it’s worth it to prep out more or should I just call it on this guy. Pretty sure it’s just a molt. I am only working with hand tools (dremmel, chisel, needle) If this was my only specimen I would be happy to continue but I have other nicer ones already free from matrix. @NoahW24 I remember you prepped a pretty sweet greenops. Fossildude19
Worth doing for the practice, if nothing else, at least in my opinion. 4 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." hadrosauridae
I agree with fossildude19, if you are new to prep work, use the "junk" fossils to practice with. That way you learn the hard lessons without ruining something you want to display. Looks like you are doing pretty well so far! 1 "There is no shortage of fossils. A.C.
Thanks. Yes my prep work is very limited and not too great.
NoahW24
Looks like a beauty! Lifelike with the inflation regardless of completeness. I am also new to prep, but I agree with more practice is better- for this one I might follow the contours of where you “think” things should be and working your way in- even if it’s not all there you can come out with something very tastefully arranged! It looks like you’re doing great so far!
