Plant or animal fossil?

I found this along AA Highway. These where at every stop I made during my 4 hour hunt. Most were on rocks too heavy for me to lift.

 

I did have a nice one that was a full specimen, but I lost it when I fell from the second teir of the roadcut (shouldn't have been climbing in the rain ha ha).  So I tried to draw out what can't be seen in the only specimen I have.

 

I looked through my fossil books and the closest thing I can find is maybe these are parts of cryptolithus. I wish I could have gotten more.

 

This one is about 2.5cm long and I saw some that were slightly larger and slightly smaller.

Thanks! That would be cool if I'm right. I really wish I had gotten more of them. I'm hoping I have some hidden under the mud of some of the other chunks I brought home.

 

Edit: I think I might be right! I found the head of one under a clump of mud.

Yup. Looks like Cryptolithus sp. to me.

Yes, lace collar fragments and a partial cephalon of Cryptolithus tessellatus. Very common in the Kope Formation, but finding anything besides these bits is very hard.

Also, just FYI, being an Ordovician exposure pretty much rules out plant fossils.
