We made a trip there some years back and met a bunch of forum members who showed us around on a group hunt. http://www.thefossilforum.com/index.php?/topic/87495-epic-carolinas-roadtrip/&do=findComment&comment=950249 The amber colored silicified belemnites were particularly fun to hunt for as they are a novelty for someone who does not have local access to Cretaceous deposits. I remember discovering an excellent pizza restaurant (Luna) in town that we ate at both nights we were in town--it was that good.
