I found hollow fossil this in a creek bed in Alachua County. I would really appreciate help identifying it. Thanks.

Looks like a modern bone to me.

My favorite things about fossil hunting: getting out of my own head, getting into nature and, if I’m lucky, finding some cool souvenirs.

Cannon Bone (sometimes called metatarsal).  Agree that condition seems to imply modern...

Thanks for your comments. The bone is hollow which is why I did not think it was a deer or a bison. Perhaps a bird? Or do bones get hollowed out somehow?

Mammal bones do get hollowed out. Cancellous bone in them is quite fragile. However, a bird bone would be thinner and lack cancellous bone.
