Wonderful.

Now what are the chances of finding the head and tail  :zzzzscratchchin::heartylaugh:

Have bits of the concretion been broken off? Or they weren’t captured in the concretion?

Rob- I was wondering how your freeze/thaw is going.

I have been freeze/thawing these concretions from Pit 11 since 7-12-2022. I have gone through a number of cycles and no luck so far. I am betting that all of the concretions contain Tully Monsters, I received them in the collection that I purchased. The small one has and exposed transverse bar at the top of the concretion, but do not have the other portion and the middle section is still covered.

This morning I brought these concretions out of the freezer and let them thaw out, I have done this several times. I knew by the shape that some of these were Tully Monsters. The one that had the best shape did not crack the way I wanted it too, so I will continue to freeze thaw it, with the hopes that it will split correctly. All that popped on this on was the tail, and it is not the greatest looking, hopefully the rest will be better.

This next one split completely, but again, it is not a great looking Tully.

That Tully looks way better than mine, which is because I don't have one.

I have a couple Tully shapes from last weekend's trip to Pit 11.   Fingers and toes crossed on these...  These are now in the freezer.

Cheers,

Rich

Today I was checking some concretions that I had freezing over the Winter. These two concretions popped, an Essexella asherae from Braceville a nice looking Macroneuropteris from Pit 3.

And two more for today. A very large concretion that did not freeze open perfectly, but I was able to put it back together.

Pecopteris-

Here are a few pieces that came out of a bucket that contained Pit 3 concretions.

This first piece I believe is Lycopodites meeki.

Neuropteris pinnule-

Here is an egg case, it looks like Palaeoxyris prendelli. If any member disagrees, please let me know what you think.

Not sure what this piece is. I am thinking Flora, but after posting the above egg capsule, I thought that it resembled the egg capsule, Vetacapsula cooperi, but know that it is not- one could hope.
