Jurassicz1
Hello! I have a question, I'm soon going to start collecting amber inclusions, but I'm not sure how to display or store them. I would like to see how some of you display / store you're amber inclusions! - Cheers Adriano
Fossildude19
I know many of our members use "floating" display boxes, so that the specimen can be seen from both sides. 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." Randyw
One word of warning though. I have had the stretch plastic in some of them fog. But not others. I'm not sure why. Having said that I do use them especially for larger pieces.I also favor gem jars for displaying mine.
Biotalker
For storing my amber inclusions, I use these plastic loose-leaf sheets with little "pockets".
Randyw
Thats a great idea! I don’t think I’ve seen those before. Do they stay secure?
Biotalker
Each pocket has a top fold-over flap that provides some security. You can get the pockets in a range of sizes, so you can use bigger ones for the thicker pieces. I haven't yet had any problems with them slipping up and out! I also put a tiny amount of olive oil on the surface of each piece (with my fingers) to prevent or slow down oxidation.
