I was told by a ranger I could have it so no one come for me am trying to figure out what kind of tree it is and maybe Miocene era? JohnJ Posted September 21, 2022 Share Posted September 21, 2022 If it was wood, there would be a distinct change in the look of the bands on the "end grain" versus the "long grain". Look at the board in your photo. It looks very different on flat surfaces of the long grain than it does on the end of the board.
