They are not in the same family. Hemipristis are hemigaleidae and Carcharhinus are carcharhinidae. In addition, the Hemipristis have very different teeth depending on their position in the jaw, while the Prionace glauca (current species) has differences only between the upper and lower ones. There's a rather long list of physical characters that blue sharks have in common with the Carcharhinidae those some of those are also characters of the Hemigaleidae, to which Hemipristis belongs. Blue sharks, the genus Prionace, are very closely-related to the genus Carcharhinus.
