Found on a mountain top in the rockies, any idea what it could be? I was wondering if it could be Cambrian?

You could also try giving us some sharper photos first before we continue guessing. The Rockies cover quite a bit of territory. Could you please give us a more precise location, otherwise we'll never be able to determine the stratigraphy.

Fracture staining in an igneous rock???  That is only one of about a million possibilities given the info provided. The rock does not look like a shale (as tag suggests) because the grains are too large, and age is totally unknown without more precise location info (as @Ludwigia requested). What about it suggested to you that this is a fossil, so we can focus on something and give you a more helpful answer.

Guess without more information metamorphic rock with staining for now that’s what is appearing in the photo.
