Union Wash Ammonites

Is the fossil site at Union Wash worth going to? I've read that the site's been depleted of fossils. Is that true?

The dirt road leading up to the site is in poor condition. My 2 wheel drive SUV got stuck not too far up the road;. Luckily, I was travelling with friends who had an offroad tuned Toyota Tundra and we made it up to the top. Later on, I had a friend that independently tried to go there, she has a 4 wheel drive Subaru Forester and didn't quite make it up to the top. Ammonite finds can be readily found, but nothing we found was "commercial quality." I have heard unsubstantiated rumors from old timers that commercial dealers had come in and used heavy equipment to remove all of the commercial quality finds. Note that this is BLM land and using heavy equipment is prohibited, as well as selling any finds. I can't verify that story but below is typical of what I found:
