Motap
I found this in the Lehigh river in Lehighton, PA while kayaking this summer. Im not sure what it is or if its possible to be a dinosaur egg. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Fossildude19
Welcome to the Forum. Unfortunately, this is not an Egg of any kind. This is a geologic oddity called a concretion. The "rind" of this item is much too thick to be eggshell. It also lacks the typical texture of any kind of egg shell. Have a look through this topic. It was written by a paleontologist who actually studies fossil eggs: 1 2 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." Tidgy's Dad
No eggshell texture and the shell would be too thick for the baby to break out! Not an even thickness either. This is a concretion. Edited October 12, 2022 by Tidgy's Dad 1 1 Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.
