Ankylosaurid Scutes? Nice Armor plates JRF

Hello, these 2 scutes are from my trip a few days to the JRF in MT, Hill Cnty. I believe they may be Nodosaurid scutes but want a better informed person's thoughts on it. The one, I had to glue back together and am missing a piece on the bottom. I think it is interesting to see the pattern of the bone on the bottom of the one. Is the pattern from from how the bone cells 'grew'? Thx for any help!

Osteoderms can be difficult to diagnose.  However the alternating three-dimensional layering of the fibers easily seen on the base of your first specimen coupled with its thickness points to it being a Nodosaurid.

You see this 3D pattern on Nodosaurids a more homogeneous surface is seen on Ankylosaurinae
