I’m hoping someone can recognize what this chunk of bone might be from. It must be something large like Proboscidean  or sloth. The sutures are making me think it’s a chunk of skull. The concave side might be an alveolus for tusk?

Broken like a jaw.  but I think it is turtle or giant tortoise.. primarily off your 2nd photo

I considered tortoise as well. It is just so much more robust than other chunks of tortoise that I have found. So, maybe the concave side is an articulation facet for a limb bone?

My maximum is 5-6 inches and for Hesperotstudo crassiscutata but I think they come bigger.  Lets check with @digit @Harry Pristis

Easily that size for the giant tortoises. The shape and texture is reminiscent of one of these.
