garyc
I’m hoping someone can recognize what this chunk of bone might be from. It must be something large like Proboscidean or sloth. The sutures are making me think it’s a chunk of skull. The concave side might be an alveolus for tusk?
Brandy Cole
Reminiscent of a jaw chunk to me, but it's just a gut feeling.
Shellseeker
Broken like a jaw. but I think it is turtle or giant tortoise.. primarily off your 2nd photo 1
Brandy Cole
@Shellseeker I see it now. That's how the suture lines look on a couple of my hesperotestudo pieces.

It is just so much more robust than other chunks of tortoise that I have found. So, maybe the concave side is an articulation facet for a limb bone? Lets check with @digit @Harry Pristis
digit
Easily that size for the giant tortoises. The shape and texture is reminiscent of one of these. Cheers. -Ken
