My husband and I went hiking today, and I started looking at rocks, and I think every single one had fossils in it! Many of them had a similar shape, which I see quite a bit around here. I have no idea what it is, though, maybe the inside of a brachiopod? Maybe a cross-section of coral? Thanks for any answers.

In your area there are rocks that would have fossils in them, but unfortunately none of your pictures are sharp enough for me to pick out specific fossils that I could ID. I see blobs that could be fossils but that is about all I can say. Sorry. Maybe someone else will have a sharper eye than I do.

Okay, trying again. This rock is not one the ones I took pics of yesterday, but one of the same shapes I saw. Much, much smaller, which is part of what’s fascinating to me. I think there is bryozoan overlaying this, but I *think* this is a brachiopod imprint fossil? Maybe?image.thumb.jpg.322f78651e5df723d039745fa8a65aad.jpg

The shadows caused by the window screen make it a bit difficult to see what you are seeing, at least for me.

Accomplishing the impossible means only that the boss will add it to your regular duties.
