WyomingRocks!
Hello, is this a fish scale? It is about 1 cm wide at the widest point. It is complete and very nice looking. Any help will be appreciated! Found in the JRF with crocodile, fish verts/teeth, turtles, and some dinosaur related fossils. It is very thin with the enamel (correct term for this?) present on the one side. Thx! 1 WyomingRocks! Stephen
Meganeura
It absolutely looks like a fish scale - though I'd honestly be wondering if it's modern? (Though my ignorance may be showing here - idk if the JRF is actually in a river or not...) but yes, fish scale! 1 Fossils? I dig it.
WyomingRocks!
No, not modern. Thanks for the info. I thought it was fish but wasn't sure. 1 WyomingRocks! Stephen

The JRF is terrestrial but the beds are mainly from freshwater deposits. Lots of channel deposits like the Hell Creek F.
WyomingRocks!
Yes, I have found quite a bit of fish material at this site. Quite a few vertical, some teeth and other. Crocodile teeth are found there and dinosaur material. It is all mixed together. WyomingRocks! Stephen
