Hello, this is a very small raptor tooth I found (I can hardly believe I found it lying there, it is so small) and I have tentatively id'd it as Richardoestesia. It is about 3 mm long. Thanks for any help.

Mesa Verde Formation - Wyoming.

The last 2 pics were taken through a microscope.

Tiny indeed.  Does it have a carina on the other side and is it serrated?

I think the formation is one word Mesaverde Fm.

Here is a 2006 publication of what is being found in that deposit.  Pretty diverse assemblage.  Some of our understanding of dinosaurs has changed a little from that publication with regard to Tyrannosaurids.

Troodon, these are the pics I have but in my memory there are no serrations but it does have a carina. But, it may be just worn down.

It's such a small tooth hard to be definitive with it.  These teeth have lots of variations

just look at one species from Uzbekistan.

The lingual side on Hell Creek ones can have a depression.   I would identify yours as cf Richardoestesia

Thanks for the replies and info. As of right now I am going with Richardoestesia as an ID.
