With these kinds of arenaceous slabs, it is mostly what you is what you get as much of the prep has been done by nature. There might be more of the same hash material here and there, but it will likely be more of what you see on the surface.

I find the plate interesting,

 

I like it as it is, although the fossils have been heavily weather down. Using a Dremel will destroy the natural color and natural finish and likely what remains of the fossils.


If you really don't like it, you might want to try the Dremel on a small corner, and if it goes bad or you don't like the result, you can just cut that corner off the plate.

 

I also use a Dremel and from experience it is best to leave it alone.

Great looking hash plates. I would leave along but if there is anything interesting peeking out then find someone with chemical prep knowledge. Acid is what would work the best.
