Found in West Texas (Rocksprings, Texas.. Sutton county). Found this while walking a ranch. Pretty sure it's a bobcat mandible, but wanted confirmation since I'm new at this. Anything helps!724612824_DSC_00662.thumb.jpg.b21f8ef57de366c646c861b348fd7364.jpg1830771020_DSC_00692.thumb.jpg.048fd8b9053f11b509844e91c1a8d0d2.jpg

Had to go take a quick picture for you to demonstrate the difference.    Bobcat on the left, Raccoon on the right.

Yup that's a senile racoon mandible!

Well, let’s not be casting judgements on the poor fellers cognitive abilities, he is dead. :heartylaugh:

Nice to have access to specimens to demonstrate the difference. And for our OP, the word 'senile' in this usage means that the teeth are well worn down indicating a raccoon that lived a reasonably long lifetime.

Cheers.
