Fossildude19
Unfortunately, I don't think this is a fossil. Looks like a concretion or chert nodule, to me. 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." digit
Yup. A really cool layered concretion that bears no small resemblance to an eye. It's Mother Nature having a joke again--she does make some fantastically shaped rocks. Though it is not a fossil it is still a pretty cool rock worthy of holding onto. Welcome to the forum--lots of great fossil information here on the forum. With a little digging (through the forum messages) you might find some fossil locations not too far from your location where you can go hunting for some real fossils with your daughter. Cheers. -Ken
fossilhunter21
Welcome to TFF! Unfortunately, I have to agree that this a concretion. Even though it is not a fossil, it is still a pretty neat little rock. -Micah
